Something old and something new! I was on a chanel course a few weeks back and we got this beautiful eyeshadow quad (listed below). As I use quite some time opening new eyeshadows and start using them, I thought today was the perfect day for something new, and I really liked it! I know you’ll probably look at the pictures and think “is she even wearing eyeshadow?”, and yes I know I’m not that crazy – but in my defence I was going for a really red lip!

Also I have been struggling a lot with my skin lately, but didn’t want to edit my imperfections because it is totally normal and okay to not be perfect sometimes. We just have to own our pretty, girls and boys!

Traveling to London tomorrow, so if you have any tips on what to do, or where I can find the best beauty and clothings – Leave a comment!

January Favourites

Image

January has not been the craziest month in trying new things because I’m saving up for a trip to London with my sister, and therefore I’ve had to be very smart with my money (not that I’m any smart with my money anyway). So I’m going to show some products I’m currently very loyal to!

Yves Saint Laurent – Manifesto. This is one of my favourite perfumes (this one and my Dior Hypnotic Poison Eau Sensuelle). It’s such a sexy, feminine, warm sent. I love everything that has vanilla, and this one really did hit the spot for me. It’s described as a sent full of passion and emotion. I have the one in 30 ml.

The Balm – Mary-Lou Manizer. Now I think we’ve all heard about this piece of beauty. It’s such a fine and creamy highlighter. It’s so pigmented that a little really goes a long way. I use this pretty much every day.

Yves Saint Laurent – Baby Doll Mascara. My eyelashes are monsters and they don’t really go with any mascara, but I found this one very good for my lashes. I’m also one of those that don’t really like using a lot of time applying mascara, so this worked fine for me. It works with volume and length – which is perfect.

Bourjoris – Bronzing Primer. Oh my lord! This is just… I can’t even… I just… love it so much. Is smells fantastic and goes on like a dream. I mostly use it over foundation and it’s just amazing for me. Did I mention the smell is fantastic?

Estée Lauder – Double Wear Foundation. I have really dehydrated skin, but I find that if I moisturise good before use – this is just perfect! It’s long-wearing which is good for days when I have school, work or other things I need to do through out the day. It’s also full coverage and matte. I have the shade 2N1 Desert Beige.

What was your favourite beauty item this month?

Foundation To Match Your Skintype.

It’s no secret that treating your skin right, will make your makeup look better too. It’s important to use the right skincare to look good now, AND later in life. Do you also know that the wrong foundation could harm your skin and make it go completely balistic? I’m not talking about wrong colour can make you look fake and orange, I’m talking about the fact that the reason that you may be breaking out can be that your foundation don’t match your skintype.

Before I start you need to know that it is important to cleanse and moisturise before applying makeup no matter what skintype you have. If you have dehydrated skin, you may think it’s oily because it gets greasy, but it’s your skin creating oils from not getting enough water. Look at the foundations for dry and normal/combination, not for oily skin!

Dry skin:

If you have dry or dehydrated skin, you may see your foundation patching up and not looking as flawless because your skin is taking all the liquid from the foundation leaving you patchy. Dry skin can also get flaky.

Look for foundations that says “sheer”, “illuminating” and “moisture”. Tintet moisturisers and BB creams are perfect if you struggle with dry skin. Bobby Brown Moisture Rich Foundation, Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser and Yves Saint Laurant ‘Youth Liberator’ Serum are very good foundations for dry skin.

Oily Skin:

Oily skin is the complete opposite of dry skin. Oily skin has a tendency to get greasy and a lot of the time the makeup lays on the “outside” of the face in stead of blending in like with dry and normal skin.

It’s very important to cleanse and moisture no matter what skintype you have, before makeup. Make sure to look for words like “long wearing”, “matte” and “stay in place” as these will not melt away as easily. Estée Lauder Double Wear, Mac ‘Pro Longwear’ and Clarins Stay Matte are some good foundations for oily skin.

Normal/Combination skin:

If you do have combination skin you can pretty much use what ever you want. A smart thing to do when using really heavy foundations is to moisture good before applying makeup. Just remember that the more matte or/and covering it is, the more it will dry your skin out.

Try out some of the biggest foundation hits at the time; Giorgio Armani Louminous Silk, Nars Sheer Glow and MAC Face & Body.

First Post.

Hey guys. As my first post I will start by telling you that I am 17 and from Norway. This is probably my fifth blog or something but my first in English so I’m quite exited about that and therefore may English might not be perfect.

The main reason that I am making this blog is because my plan is to move to Enland in two years (when I finish school) and do make-up. I will put up a favorites post shortly, so please stay tuned.

PS: Since I have a very Norwegian and unusual name, just call me S.
